Band 5 Medical Photographer – Full time permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medical Illustration Department of Frimley Health Foundation Trust, providing a range of photographic and graphic services across the Trust.
You will need to be suitably qualified in Clinical Photography and be enthusiastic, hardworking and, ideally, CAMIP registered. You should be able to show that you can to work well independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Although the position is for a fully qualified Medical Photographer applications will be accepted from candidates who have relevant media degree or equivalent work experience. If an unqualified candidate is successful then they will be placed as a trainee within the department and pay will be band 5 but under annex 21 until qualified. Typically, these staff develop their knowledge and skills significantly during a period of time measured in years. Given the significant change in knowledge and skills during the training period the use of job evaluation is not appropriate. Pay is determined as a percentage of the pay for qualified staff. 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate in the first year changing to 75% in the second ye! ar until completion of a Postgraduate certificate in clinical photography.
Candidates must have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, with a working knowledge of Photoshop, Microsoft Office and a good background in digital technology.
You will work as part of a small team who are friendly, supportive, and forward thinking.
Based at Wexham Park Hospital, the role will involve travelling between the Trust’s sites, in particular Frimley Park Hospital where at times you may be the sole photographer on site, running a busy clinic.
You will be expected to demonstrate a high standard of photographic, computer and software skills. Your interpersonal skills will need to be excellent, and skill in time management and prioritising workload is essential. A good work ethic and flexibility will be expected.
