Representatives from IMI and CAMIP have been working with the Academy for Healthcare Science to develop a branch of the Academy for Healthcare Science’s accredited register for medical illustrators. A Notification of Change has been submitted to the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) and an outcome is anticipated before the end of 2016.
The PSA have agreed that work to transfer all current CAMIP registrants to the ‘shadow’ AHCS register can start straight away. The process for doing this commenced on 1st October 2016 and will take several weeks to complete.
From 2017 registration costs will no longer be part of the IMI subscription and registrants will be responsible for paying their registration fees directly to the AHCS. Full details will be provided in due course. However, for IMI Members who are CAMIP registrants and are fully paid up before the transfer is completed, your 2017 registration fees will be subsidised by IMI until 31st March 2018. If you haven’t already done so, you are strongly advised to ensure that your IMI subscription is up to date and that you have completed the annual declaration on the CAMIP website: http://camip.org.uk/members/login.
For more information about joining the register, please contact the CAMIP Registrar at: email@example.com
