Scottish Regional Meeting

IMI Scottish Regional Meetings are excited to be offering an amazing opportunity of a talk and tour with Ashleigh Wiffin at the National Museums Collection Centre, Edinburgh to view the Entomology Collection on Wednesday 27th February at 2:00pm

The collection at NMCC is visited by more than 100 researchers, students, artists and amateur entomologists each year, and we now hosts regular public tours too. On your visit you will see some highlights of the insect collection; including some of our oldest and rarest specimens, current research material and archives. There will also be the opportunity to discuss our photographic techniques and how we are beginning to digitise our collection; with the chance to view our 3 imaging set ups and a demonstration of photo stacking. Overall, we hope you will leave with an appreciation of these impressive animals, and an understanding of the use and importance of museum insect collections.

This meeting is strictly limited to 12 places, with fully paid up members of the Institute of Medical Illustration being offered first refusal and, should there be any spaces left, non-members can request to attend.

If you would like to attend please contact Dave Dickie, Scottish Regional Rep at: scotland@imi.org.uk
